1. Think of a UNIQUE idea – something that has great added value to the USER

2. Find a good relevant script that can accommodate your needs in the most optimal way – something you don’t have to invest too much time/money in customizing and that will give you enough leeway to beta test your site.

3. decide if you want to create a keyword based domain or make up a name (ex: google, yahoo, bing, meshable, ping, VS Myspace, facebook, wildtangent, fox etc,)

4. Set up your website and add initial content to make it look somewhat alive – this can be done by you, your friends, content writers, importing RSS feeds etc’.

5. Add creative’s on your site- start selling your traffic! In today’s world users are so used to seeing banners (and disregard them) that if they DO NOT see any advertising on your site (unless you are operating craigslist or something similar) it feels to them that you are not successful.

6. Start building links – article writing, directory submissions, blog commenting, forum posting, build a facebook page, create a twitter profile, create a myspace page and any additional social media platforms you can think of.

7. Optimize your site with great additional features and widgets

8. Buy traffic to your site while continuing to add new fresh content

9. Consider new traffic source, advertising channels, and marketing opportunities (JV, Affiliate, Etc’.)

10. Optimize your site and prepare the Release candidate of the site
