How to Use Your Online SYQEL Account as a Background for OBS

You can use SYQEL in your browser as a live, audio-reactive background for OBS. The app lives at vj.syqel.com — the same engine as the desktop app, no install required.

Prefer a clean feed? Use the desktop app.

The free SYQEL Desktop app sends visuals into OBS directly over NDI (or Spout on Windows) — no window capture and no lag, because it runs offline. If you stream often, that’s the better path; see “How to add the SYQEL Desktop application to OBS.” The browser route below needs nothing but OBS.

Open vj.syqel.com and sign in. Your library syncs in automatically.

In the top bar, choose an audio source so the visuals have something to react to:

Tab or system audio (Chrome/Edge) — for a track playing in another tab or app; tick “Share tab audio”.
A virtual device (BlackHole, Loopback, VB-Cable) — route your system output into it and pick it here for the full mix.

Then go fullscreen.

Step 2 — Capture it in OBS

Under Sources, click + → Window Capture (or Display Capture if SYQEL has its own fullscreen monitor), and choose the SYQEL browser window.

Step 3 — Fit it to the canvas

Right-click the source → Transform → Fit to screen. That’s it — a reactive SYQEL background behind your stream.

The watermark and your branding

SYQEL is free to try with the SYQEL logo on the output. A subscription removes it and lets you put your own logo up instead — the move before you go live to an audience.
