How to Add the SYQEL Web App to OBS

You can stream SYQEL straight from your browser. Run it at vj.syqel.com, then capture that window in OBS.

1. Start SYQEL

1. Open vj.syqel.com and sign in.
2. In the top bar, pick your audio source. The web app hears a microphone or audio input only, such as your DJ mixer or audio interface. It can’t hear music playing on the computer itself unless you route it through a virtual device (see Creating a virtual audio input).
3. Press H to hide the top bar and performance bar, and click the fullscreen icon if you want the window to fill a screen.

2. Capture it in OBS

1. In OBS, under Sources, click + → Window Capture (on Mac, macOS Screen Capture with the method set to window capture).
2. Choose the browser window running SYQEL.
3. Right-click the source → Transform → Fit to screen.

If SYQEL is fullscreen on its own monitor, Display Capture of that monitor works too.

Capture your own browser window rather than adding vj.syqel.com as a Browser Source: SYQEL needs you signed in and needs permission to use your audio input, and you grant both in your browser.

Audio

OBS doesn’t get sound from the SYQEL window. Add the same input SYQEL listens to as an audio source in OBS. See Setting up OBS audio source.

For a cleaner feed

SYQEL Desktop sends only the visuals to OBS over NDI (or Spout on Windows), with no browser window to crop, and it can listen to your music apps directly. See Can I use SYQEL as a background for streaming?

On Free, the SYQEL logo is always on the visuals. A subscription removes it and lets you show your own; see pricing.
