How to add the SYQEL Web App to OBS

You can stream SYQEL straight from your browser into OBS. The old batch-file “OBS Launcher” is gone — the web app at vj.syqel.com is a full app now, so the modern path is simpler: run it, capture it, and give it audio to react to.

There are two good ways to do this. The browser route needs nothing extra; the desktop route gives the cleanest feed.

Note: install OBS first

If you don’t have OBS yet, get it here, then come back.

The browser route (no install beyond OBS)

Open vj.syqel.com and sign in. Pick an audio source in the top bar:

Tab or system audio (Chrome/Edge) — visualize a track from another tab or app. Tick “Share tab audio” in the picker.
A virtual device (BlackHole, Loopback, VB-Cable) — route your system output into it and select it; the cleanest option for a full mix.

Put SYQEL into fullscreen once the visuals are reacting.

Step 2 — Capture it in OBS

In OBS, under Sources, click + and add a Window Capture (or Display Capture if SYQEL is fullscreen on its own monitor). Choose the browser window running SYQEL.

Step 3 — Fit it to the canvas

Right-click the source → Transform → Fit to screen (or Stretch to screen). Stream away.

The desktop route (best quality)

For a clean, capture-free feed, the free SYQEL Desktop app sends visuals straight into OBS over NDI (or Spout on Windows) — no window capture, no browser bar, no audio-routing gymnastics. If you stream regularly, this is the one to use. See “How to set up SYQEL in OBS” for the NDI steps.

A note on the watermark

SYQEL is free to try with the SYQEL logo on the output. A subscription removes it and lets you show your own logo instead — worth it before you put a stream in front of an audience.
