How to add a countdown timer before your DJ stream starts

Watch: How to add a countdown timer before your DJ stream starts

The first few minutes of a stream are when people are still showing up. A countdown tells them they are in the right place, and when the set starts.

Set up the countdown

  1. Open Overlays.
  2. Click Countdown. It shows Starting soon with a timer, over your visuals.
  3. Choose For a set time and set the Minutes, or choose Until a clock time.
  4. Style it if you like: size, position, corners, glow and color.

Start it

  1. Turn it on, or press 3. The clock starts.
  2. Your viewers see the minutes tick down, while the visuals keep moving with the music.
  3. Press 3 again to take it off.

Tips

  • Go live with the countdown already on, and play a warm-up track under it.
  • The countdown sits on key 3, next to the other overlays on keys 1 to 6. See Stream overlays.
