How to remove your webcam background for DJ streams: auto cut-out or green screen
SYQEL Live can remove the room behind you, so you stand right on the stage. There are two ways.
| Mode | What you need | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Green / blue screen | A green or blue backdrop behind you | The cleanest edge |
| Auto cut-out | Nothing | Softer edges, no backdrop needed |
There is also Off, which shows your whole camera picture as a box.
Open the key settings
- Open Scenes.
- Pick the Webcam layer.
- Open Key.
No backdrop: Auto cut-out
- Choose Auto cut-out.
- SYQEL Live finds you in the picture and removes everything else.
Even light and a plain wall behind you help a lot.
Green or blue screen
- Hang a green or blue screen behind you.
- Choose Green / blue screen.
- Press Detect backdrop. SYQEL Live finds your screen’s color.
- If bits of the screen still show, raise Strength.
- If parts of you start to disappear, bring Strength back down.
- Use Edge shrink to trim a thin halo of screen color around your edge.
- Use Edge feather to soften your outline, so you blend into the stage.
Tips
- Light the screen evenly. Shadows and wrinkles are the hardest parts to remove.
- Don’t wear the same color as your screen.
- Make one change at a time, and check the preview after each one.
