What Does SYQEL Do With My Mic Audio?

SYQEL listens to your audio only to make the visuals react to it. The analysis happens on your own computer, in the desktop app or in your browser. Your audio is never sent to a server, and SYQEL does not store it or use it for anything else.

The same applies to every source you can pick, whether it’s a microphone, an audio interface, a virtual audio device or, in SYQEL Desktop, App Audio or System Audio.

The one time audio is saved is when you choose to record in SYQEL Desktop. Record saves videos, including the audio you are passing through, to a SYQEL folder in your computer’s Videos folder (Movies on a Mac). Those files stay on your computer.

You choose what SYQEL can hear. On a Mac, you can turn access off at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security (under Microphone, or Screen & System Audio Recording for App Audio and System Audio). In a browser, you can remove microphone access for vj.syqel.com in the site settings.
