Elegant audio-reactive visuals for the wedding reception

A bare white wall behind the dance floor is a missed opportunity. SYQEL gives the reception a living backdrop that responds to the DJ's music — tasteful during the first dance, gradually more energetic as the night opens up.

Wedding receptions move through distinct emotional moments: cocktail hour, dinner, the first dance, the open floor. Each moment has a different energy, and the visual environment should follow it. SYQEL makes that possible without asking the DJ or a venue technician to manage a separate system. Connect it to the DJ's audio feed, pre-load visual sets that match the couple's color palette and aesthetic, and the backdrop runs itself — reacting to every track in real time. A paid plan lets you brand the screens with the couple's names and date for a detail that photographs well and guests actually notice.

How SYQEL works with weddings

01

Connect to the DJ's audio feed

The DJ provides a line out from their mixer — the same output already going to the PA — and SYQEL begins reading the music: tempo, energy, and dynamics moment by moment.

02

Build a visual set around the couple's aesthetic

Select looks that match the wedding's color palette and style — soft and romantic for the first dance, progressively more textured as the open floor builds through the evening.

03

Overlay names, dates, and branding

Add the couple's names and wedding date as a branded overlay with a paid plan — a detail visible in photographs that does not require a separate signage system.

Tailored to the couple's palette

Generate or select visuals in the exact colors and aesthetic of the wedding — using the AI generator to create a completely custom look in minutes if needed.

Follows the DJ's energy naturally

The backdrop shifts from soft and intimate during slow songs to more dynamic during high-energy moments — no operator needed, and no jarring transitions.

Names and date on screen

The branded overlay (paid plan) displays the couple's names and date on every screen in the room — a personalised touch that shows up in reception photography.

Runs without a dedicated operator

Pre-load the approved visual set before the reception starts. The DJ does not need to manage it, and no additional staff member is needed at the AV station.

What's in SYQEL Desktop

The parts DJs use every night — each one documented, none of them extra software.

Works offline

Visuals, playlists, logos and hotkeys live on your machine. No internet at the venue, no problem — the show runs exactly the same. Sign in on another machine and your setup follows you.

Five visual feeds

Worlds, shaders, scenes, Milkdrop and image visuals — hundreds of looks in one library, every one of them reacting to the music in real time.

Control with MIDI or keyboard

Space for the next visual, Enter to hold one for the drop, Backspace to go back. Put any control, visual or playlist on a key or a pad with Learn Key and Learn MIDI — on every plan.

Broadcast and NDI

Press B for a clean output window to capture in OBS, or send the visuals over your network with NDI into OBS, vMix or Resolume — Spout too, on Windows.

Create visuals with AI

Describe a look — "neon hexagon tunnel that pulses with the bass" — and get a brand-new audio-reactive shader, or generate an image and let the AI animate it. Adjust it for free, keep what you make.

Record four formats at once

Press R and SYQEL saves four videos in one go — 16:9, 1:1, 9:16 and 4:5 — with your audio in them, straight into a SYQEL folder. One for every platform, nothing to capture or convert.

Frequently asked questions

Can the visual style be matched to our wedding's color scheme?

Yes. SYQEL's AI visual generator lets you describe a look — including specific colors, textures, and moods — and generates a custom audio-reactive shader to match. Marquee text can use your chosen colors on every plan.

How does it work with the DJ's existing setup?

The DJ provides a standard line-out or aux send from their mixer — the same output already going to the PA system. SYQEL takes that feed, so it requires nothing additional from the DJ and does not touch their signal chain.

Is it appropriate for the ceremony as well as the reception?

Most couples use it for the reception, but it can work for the ceremony if there is live music or a DJ set. For ceremonies, choose the calmest, most ambient presets in the library and test them with your officiant before the day.
